Saving dogs is Ashley Boggs’ life passion; she has rescued pets for a long time. One day, as she was traveling through a Puerto Rican forest, she noticed a poor brown dog stopping automobiles and pleading for assistance.
This dog was behaving differently than most stray dogs, who typically hide in the woods or leisurely walk down a busy road with no purpose in mind. It seemed as though she was trying very hard to communicate with Boggs!
Mama Dog Ispleading For Just One Thing
Ashley discovered that the dog that had stopped her was a nursing mother who was in a frantic need for assistance for her newborn puppies when she got out of the car. This little dog was on her own to take care of her family after being abandoned in the woods without any food or water.
Luckily, Boggs, a New Yorker who works at Miracles for Satos Rescue, showed in at the last second to save the day!
Aside from the mom dog, who was later named Goji, there were two other pups hiding in the secluded area.
All three were friendly right off the bat, and Boggs had no problem securing them in her car. However, there were more puppy cries coming from the wooded area, and she knew that she had to go back to investigate a little more.
Finally, Boggs discovered four additional puppies hiding close to the box in which they had been thrown. This incredibly generous volunteer didn’t stop working until she was able to fit all seven of them into the back of her vehicle.
The Berry Family Made Time Savings
Upon arriving at the facility, Boggs and the staff made sure the stray family had all the necessary care. They all needed a new beginning and were hungry, and they received both!
The puppies were extremely fortunate that Boggs was able to locate them through Miracles for Satos Rescue, an organization that rescues, transfers, and finds permanent homes for dogs from Puerto Rico to New York!
All of them were placed in a foster home, where they were introduced to other dogs and taught the fundamentals of polite behavior.
Being the world’s most loving dog, Goji, the mother, had no problem adjusting to new conditions!
She is the best dog in the world. Every dog and human she encounters is loved by her. The MFSR team posted on their Facebook page, “She will even do tricks for treats and loves rubs and cuddles.”
Raspberry, Blueberry, Gooseberry, Cloudberry, Blackberry, and Strawberry were the names given to the remaining puppies.
The MFSR crew stated, “We picked them from the bushes, so we named them after berries.”
A Fresh Start Is In Store
Goji had at last reached a point in her life where she could stop worrying about her family’s safety. She became the kindest kid with the only goal of making everyone happy when she met them, all because of her caregivers, who helped her let down her guard.
