Almond, an 11-year-old cat, had an extravagant life full of love and care from her owners, yet she felt incomplete. Almond yearned for a distinct bond that could only be fulfilled by a furry sibling.
Her response will make your heart melt. Her humans decided to adopt another cat to keep her company since they were worried about her well-being.
The Lonely Cat’s Life
Although having an only kid is wonderful, there may be drawbacks as well. Almond needed a furry friend even though her owners adored and cared for her.
Almond’s owner revealed in a TikTok video that soon gained widespread popularity that she began exhibiting symptoms of loneliness:
“Although she was spending most of their time outside, which is normal, we could tell that, at eleven, she was not getting enough stimulation.”
Then, Almond’s owner describes how her daily routine began to change and exhibit signs of despair. They would try to occupy her with new toys or other things, but she would sleep for the most of the day.
The owners grew concerned when they saw that Almond was desperately trying to make herself feel less alone by licking and brushing her toy, just like cats do to each other.
“She yearned for an alternative form of bond.”
Getting to Know The Younger Brother
Without any delay, the owners made the decision to acquire a new cat. After visiting the shelter, they returned home with a new cat who would shortly grow up to be Almond’s younger brother.
We chose to give him the name Cashew. Almond and cashew would then be available.
The introduction proceeded much according to plan. Almond made it quite obvious that she was not happy to have a new cat in her home.
“There were a lot of growls and hisses at first. The new cat in her domain did not sit well with Almond.
Throughout the next few days, Almond watched the new cat warily and occasionally expressed her feelings to him. She didn’t make friendly contact with her infant brother until a week after the hissing progressively subsided.
Love Develops Amongst Brothers
The cats’ initial animosity eventually subsided, and they started to become friends. Playful wrestling was the beginning, and it quickly led to further exchanges and strengthening of their friendship.
“They started to hang out together most of the time. visiting the same room consistently.
Throughout the days, that connection became closer. Soon, fun friendliness turned into tender gestures, leading to the heartwarming image of two cats embracing.
“She would groom him just like she groomed her toys,” said Almond.
Almond had returned to her former cheerful self. She now spends her days playing and cuddling with her companion. and presumably taking care of her younger sibling on occasion. We are well aware of the insane nature of younger brothers.
The owners are ecstatic to see that the two are leading the greatest lives possible.
“It was the greatest choice we could have ever made.”
The TikTok community took to this video right once, and it has now received over 300,000 likes and over 3 million views. Many people were moved by the tale of the two kittens becoming friends:
