In an alley in St. Louis, Missouri, a good samaritan noticed a scared puppy curled up behind a trash. He or she called Stray Rescue of St. Louis to ask for assistance.
Donna Lochmann and her team arrived at the scene right away.
They observed the dog—later named Joan of Bark—as soon as they got there, trying to hide from the outside world. She appeared content with her lot in life and remained silent.
Joan of Bark looked in Lochmann’s direction as soon as she heard her voice. Her stunning eyes conveyed her deep sadness and intense anxiety.
Getting Her Safe
Lochmann served Joan of Bark Vienna sausages while seated next to her.
The dog was quite hungry, though, and gobbled up the tasty food without delay.
Following some time spent sitting with Joan of Bark, the dog’s rescuer fastened a leash around the dog’s neck.
Because the scared dog was hesitant to accompany her, Lochmann allowed her some time. The dog’s rescuers understood why she was so afraid when she eventually got to her feet.
Regretfully, she suffered a shattered back leg. The dog made the rescue crew sad. They thought she had been struck by a car.
Joan of Bark was told that she was safe by the rescuers after they tricked her into entering a container.
“She experiences agony and fear, but who wouldn’t be in her shoes? It’s okay, sweetie—you’re safe now! We’ve got you covered, Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote on Facebook.
They hurried her to the clinic, where she was examined and her back limb was X-rayed by the veterinarian.
Joan of Bark had a calming bath from the compassionate veterinary staff, and she liked it. Her eyes were beaming with gratitude as she looked at her caregivers.
Sadly, despite the vet team’s best efforts, the dog’s limb had to be removed due to long-term breakage.
Following a successful surgery, the courageous dog began her journey toward recuperation.
Getting A Lot of Love
Joan of Bark relocated to a shelter after her recovery.
The doggo no longer experienced any pain, which made her feel better. She felt safe and loved as her rescuers showered her with love.
Every second Joan of Bark spent with her heroes was treasured. She enjoyed snuggling up to them.
Even as a tripod, the dog had a good existence. She enjoyed zooming around the yard.
Joan of Bark was put in an amazing foster home by the St. Louis rescue. The dog was shy at first, but she warmed up soon.
Joan of Bark received kind treatment from her foster family. She was grateful for the chance to feel the coziness and comfort of a home.
The dog enjoyed spending time with her fuzzy foster sister after they became acquainted.
Joan of Bark started looking for her permanent family since she wished to eventually possess her own place.
Her greatest wish may or may not have been fulfilled, but I have no doubt that such a beautiful puppy will soon have the opportunity to experience the unwavering love that only her parents can provide.
