A little kitten was found crawling on the side of the road around two months ago, and a good samaritan stopped to aid.
The kitten screamed out and crept toward them as soon as she spotted the finder approaching. “She was fortunate that someone noticed her and hurried to save her,” Love Meow was informed by Ellen Carozza LVT, VTS (CP-Feline).
“Right from the beginning, she was the sweetest kitten who wanted to be rescued.”
Poppy the kitten had damaged front legs, was malnourished, had tick bites all over her body, and was having stomach problems. After taking her in and providing her with emergency medical attention, To The ResQ, a local animal rescue, determined the kitten would require more assistance.
They got in touch with Ellen, whose mission at the Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation (CGMFF) is to save the most vulnerable kittens.
Although Poppy’s exact cause of being on the road with broken legs remained unknown, her life would now be full of love and comfort. Ellen accepted Poppy into her care right away.
She constructed new splints for her front legs and gave her a thorough bath.
The identical course of therapy was started by Ellen and her colleagues for a another kitten with shattered front legs. Poppy gained strength and gained much-needed weight after receiving care for a few days.
She loved to be cuddled in a towel and brushed with a toothbrush, and she hoped that she would soon be able to play like a kitten once more.
She was not in the least bothered by the splints. She would lie on her back, flaunting her protruding tummy.
They noted how quickly her legs recovered after a week of treatment, and they let her to play with another kitten. Every person Poppy encountered and every cat buddy she made fell in love with her.
After a swift recuperation, not even her splints could prevent her from acting out. Another week passed. “She decided enough is enough and wants them off.”
With a deft move, Poppy removed her braces once, then pretended nothing had occurred.
When Ellen questioned her about the whereabouts of the braces, she performed a flawless meerkat impression while pacing about on all fours. Poppy was well on her way to fully recovering, and she was ecstatic to be allowed to move around without restriction once more.
Her fun and naughty attitude surfaced once her splints were removed.
“Poppy is just a typical kitty who enjoys playing and climbing. Her quick recovery makes us very proud.”
Poppy overcame a difficult period and was at last prepared for her new chapter. She had hoped to find a loving family and lifelong feline buddies in a forever home, but that family had really been waiting for her.
In the present day, Poppy has developed into a frolicking, gregarious young feline who never lets anything stop her.
A dream come true, she is now reunited with her devoted family in her new house.
